Oh such Breath!

“March around the city once with all the armed men. Do this for six days. Have seven priests carry trumpets of rams’ horns in front of the ark. On the seventh day, march around the city seven times, with the priests blowing the trumpets” (Joshua 6:3-4). The children of Israel spent forty years in the wilderness. A whole generation had died there in the desert. Even those most committed to the promises of God must have thought, “Lord, I’ve waited forty years. When am I going to see the Promised Land?” Forty years is a long time to wait, but even then the walls of Jericho didn’t just collapse straightaway. God said, “I want you to do something . . .” The final fulfillment of the promise was still another week away. You may be saying to yourself, “Gee, here I am in church again. Another service, another offering, another prayer meeting . . . what a waste of time! I’m still not seeing the breakthrough I’ve been trusting God for.” Maybe you don’t see any signs that your breakthrough is coming; yet, regardless of appearances, what you are doing is making a difference. And that day is soon coming when that seemingly insurmountable wall shall come down!
